To support the cultural and spiritual requirements and needs of our residents, the following processes have been developed and implemented:
The Pastoral Care Team provides emotional and spiritual support to residents and their families.
During the admission process, a member of the Pastoral Care Team meets with the resident and discusses past, present and future cultural and spiritual beliefs, customs and practices (where the resident is cognitively able).
The Pastoral Care Team provides ongoing support via friendly visits to residents’ rooms, a listening ear and counseling support in times of bereavement, personal crisis, grief and loss, as well as support through prayer.
The Pastoral Care Team also facilitates daily Communion to Catholic residents on request, as well as facilitating religious services regularly throughout the home, including Catholic, Anglican and Baptist services.
