Nursing Home

Our Lady of Consolation Nursing Home is a 130 bed high care residential aged care facility at Rooty Hill. 109 beds are General Nursing Home places and 21 beds are Dementia Specific. The nursing home is divided into four (4) areas known as St Joseph's, St Francis, St Clare and St Anthony’s. Each area has its own dining, lounge and courtyard facilities. The General Nursing Home places are located in St Joseph's, St Francis and St Clare. The 21 dementia specific places are located in a secure unit known as St Anthony’s.

There are also 173 residential aged care hostel places, located across three (3) separate buildings, on the same site, as well as the offices of Our Lady of Consolation Aged Care Services Limited’s community care services.

The environment of the nursing home consists of 120 single rooms and five (5) double rooms. Most rooms have an en-suite, whilst the remainder have an a-joining bathroom shared between two (2) rooms.

The environment is contemporary and spacious. Consisting of multiple communal lounge areas, dining rooms, prayer rooms and courtyards, the nursing home is set in landscaped surrounds, including gardens for the ongoing enjoyment of residents and visitors. A recreation hall and an on-site chapel with a capacity of approximately 400 also form part of the complex.

Admission requires assessment via an Aged Care Assessment Team and completion of an application form. Our care staff will also wish to conduct a pre-admission assessment. We also encourage all applicants and/or their families to visit the nursing home and undertake a tour before applying.
