Respite and Wellness program for older people and their carers
Programs designed around the needs of each individual (An Australian Government initiative).
The service provides Day Respite to carers, based around a ‘Wellness’ program for primary carers of frail older people, including people with dementia.
We offer:
- Social interaction for participants via a day respite service
- A focus on addressing the key health issues of both carers and clients such as Diabetes, Osteoporosis and Arthritis, including the needs of people caring for them at home.
- We act as a point of coordination for the client and the carer in dealing with General Practitioners, physiotherapists, podiatrists and other allied health services, some of whom will visit the Centre regularly on a sessional basis.
